NORTHFIELD TOWNHOME AND CONDOMINIUM COMMUNITIES BROCKMAN POINTE

While Northfield in 1982 welcomed the introduction of townhomes and condominiums, the year 2000 saw a significant change in the type of housing moving into the mainstream.  Single–family homes gave way to an increase in high-density housing.  Welcome to the Brockman Pointe Neighborhood!

It was 2002.  Target opened its doors to the community in 2000 at its new location nearby just off Honeylocust Dr.  The lots dotting the Oaklawn Loop east of Char Carlson Park waited for buyers to begin building their homes.  Cub Foods and Applebee’s found their places nearby.  It was time for Brockman Pointe to join the neighborhood.

Seven two-story buildings, 64 units of side by side attached townhouses, filled in the space between 110th St E, Brockman Ct, and the city-owned Char Carlson Park.  Each has a tuckunder garage with space for two cars.  These townhomes offer two or three bedrooms, two or three baths, laundry, walk-in closets, basement storage, and much more for anyone, with or without pets.

The outside deck beckons you to trade your indoor workspace for a few moments of fresh air and natural greenery.  If you crave more interaction outside your four walls, then explore the nearby walking and biking trails starting at Char Carlson Park leading to Mill Towns State Trail, or go a little further to Nerstrand State Park and discover the beauty of the Hidden Falls.

Many other attractions and restaurants have added to the landscape since Brockman Pointe in 2002.  The “Y Northfield Committee” formed in 2005 to explore and eventually launch the Northfield Area Family YMCA now located behind Target opening in 2014.  Two years later in 2016 the Dundas Dome opened to provide an indoor place for families and groups to play and celebrate sports and special events when winter threatens.  It is open from 1 November through 30 April.  Nearby Dundas and Northfield offer opportunities to explore the past as well as the present with museums, farms, fairs and seasonal festivals.

The Brockman Pointe Community continues to grow. The Timberfield Apartments were built in the early 2020’s adding more housing options for this exciting area.
